Ali K. Hammoud is a practicing Criminal Defense Attorney and Founding Partner at Hammoud, Dakhlallah & Associates PLLC based in Dearborn, Michigan. Ali is a magistrate judge for the 19th District Court in Dearborn, Michigan. He holds an associate degree from Henry Ford Community College in Liberal Arts, a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Wayne State University, and a Juris Doctor with a concentration in litigation from Thomas M. Cooley Law School. Ali has litigated cases all over the State of Michigan, Ohio, West Virginia, and Kentucky while focusing his practice on serious felony charges ranging from Major Drugs, Guns, Armed Robbery, Carjacking, and Murder cases.

 

Ali is an active member of the State Bar of Michigan, Wayne County Criminal Defense Bar, Arab American Bar Association, American Bar Association, and The Criminal Defense Lawyers of Michigan. Ali has been successful in defending clients in several high profile and media cases and has procured many not guilty verdicts including Armed Robbery, Assault with Intent to Murder, Manslaughter, and First-Degree Murder.

 Ali has written extensively about Arab and Muslim issues including articles regarding Lebanon and its Constitution, and Palestine and Civil Rights. Ali also hosted Politics Today on MEA TV, where he interviewed and discussed elections and Arab American issues with candidates and elected government officials from all over the country. Ali is married to Fadwa Hammoud, Michigan’s current Solicitor General and former Assistant Wayne County Prosecutor.

Ali is very active in the Arab American Community in Michigan and has served as a community liaison, Co-Chairman of ADC’s Advisory Board, member of ADC’s Greater Detroit Chapter, past Co-Chairman of BRIDGES, President of AAPAC (Arab American Political Action Committee) and served on The Board of Directors of The American Red Cross. Ali has been a guest Judge and mentor at Wayne State University Law School and The Thomas M. Cooley Law School for their Mock Trial and Moot Court Competitions. He has set up Diversity Forums at both schools and has been a featured lecturer at the Thomas M. Cooley Law School on various legal issues including "The role of Islam in the legal profession" and has lectured about “Arab Americans in the Workforce.”
